Allowing Private ICAL Access

Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page

If you are using Google Calendar through a Google Apps (usually paid) account the Private ICAL may not be available by default.

To enable Private ICAL access to your Google Apps Calendar, have your Google Apps Administrator set the following setting in the Google Apps Console (layout may vary from the below pict):

 Google Apps Allow iCal Access

The URL for this (may vary or change) is: https://admin.google.com/AdminHome?pli=1&fral=1#AppDetails:service=calendar&flyout=sharing .If this does not work simply search on "Calendar" in the Google Apps Console.  After the above is set, allow up to 8 hours for the change to take effect.  Then re-fetch the iCal per instructions here.

Important notes:

1) The settings do not necessarily make calendars Public.  It simply enables the User to set his own settings including accessing the Private ICAL.

2) This settings is not instant, allow up to 24 hours to take effect.

3) If you also have Microsoft Outlook & need an alternate means to allow WinCalendar to access your Google Calendar:

- Install the Google Apps Sync for Outlook to sync your Google Calendar to Outlook Calendar.

- Use the WinCalendar import from Outlook feature instead.
