Lailatul Miraj (Arabic: الإسراء والمعراج) commemorates Prophet Muhammad's ascension to heaven. Muslims believe that on this night, an angel came to the Prophet, washed his abdomen with Zamzam water, and filled his heart with wisdom and belief.

@AbrarOmeish My own Muslim mother says to me “kids off school again today??” Every time I tell her about another teacher workday or holiday. We need more days in school rather than days off.
Shab e Meraj also called Lailat al Miraj and Isra Wal Miraj, a historical night event much celebrated and respected in Islamic history

@Javahead001 @AlyssaM_InfoSec I was a manager of a team which included a fair number of Christian and Muslim team members, and I'm a Jew.
I forget the holiday, but I did a little 1 or 2 minute blurb on that holiday, so my employees didn't have to.
The Christians wondered why I was talking about Islam. 🤦♀️
Passover is coming up!
Mimouna is a Moroccan Jewish holiday marking the end of Passover, often celebrated w/ Muslim neighbors.
A rare gem in terms of representation: A family that is Moroccan (African), Jewish, Brown, and celebrates a holiday from Sephardic/Mizrahi tradition. https://t.co/36KUaFrjDK

Today is Isra Miraj 1442 H, a holiday observed by our fellow Muslims. Let us give way to this peaceful event. Happy ascension of prophet Muhammed day to all my Muslim brothers around the world.
@hobokenlibrary Pick of the Day: Today is the Muslim holiday of Isra & Mi'raj. Learn more about the experience of a diverse group of Muslim Americans living in New York City in the 2018 documentary American Muslim. See on Kanopy with your Hoboken Library card. https://t.co/r93CrMJkRB
@ianspence1102 @Wengzinoo Yes it is a holiday. It’s their version of Christmas (that’s what my Muslim coworker compared it to.) they should have it easier because that’s what their religion entails. Just like the teachers shouldn’t get mad when they go pray. They don’t get mad at us for doing it.
Today is also Lailat al Miraj, also known as Al Isra’ wal Miraj, which marks the night that Allah took Mohammad on a journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to heaven. https://t.co/zXjf7nNEvv
